RAD IMPORTANT INFORMATION
19-Sep-2011Important information and dates regarding the RAD classes, exams, private lessons, master classes and Summer camps 2012. Please read carefully;
Exams are 2 weeks earlier this year so we have a lot of work to do in order to prepare sooner than usual.
1: EXAMS, PRESENTATION EXAMS AND CLASS AWARDS WILL BE HELD:
SUNDAY 11TH, MONDAY 12TH, TUESDAY 13TH AND WEDNESDAY 14TH MARCH 2012.
ALL STUDENTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ANY TIME DURING THESE 4 DAYS WHEN WE ARE ALLOCATED AN EXAMINER. I WILL NOT KNOW EXACT DAYS AND TIMES UNTIL APPROX 2 WEEKS BEFOREHAND. EXAMS CANNOT BE SCHEDULED AROUND INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. EXAM FEES ARE DUE IN JANUARY.
ALL FEES REGARDING EXAMS, MOCK EXAMS AND PRACTICES WITH THE PIANIST WILL BE CHARGED AUTOMATICALLY TO YOUR ACCOUNT. RDA will notify you when these charges will be billed. It is usually during the 1st 2 weeks of January.
2: MOCK EXAMS WILL BE IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2012. DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED ONCE WE KNOW HOW MANY STUDENTS FROM EACH GRADE WILL BE TAKING AN EXAM. THE MOCK EXAM IS USUALLY 30 - 45 MINUTES. COST IS $15.
3: IMPORTANT: PRIVATE LESSONS AND MASTER CLASSES ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO BOOK ON THE PARENT PORTAL ON OUR WEBSITE .
This is new this year and will be a much better process than waiting to sign up and pay at the front desk. There are classes scheduled from October to December at present on Saturdays and Sundays with Ms. Francine, Ms. Christina and Mrs. Watkin. You can look at all the dates available, book your classes, pay on line and receive an email confirmation. The office will not be booking, collecting fees or canceling any lessons or master classes. Please note that there will be NO refunds or make ups for lessons booked on line. ‘No shows’ will also not be credited or refunded. Please look at your calendars carefully before booking your extra classes.
A little reminder: Often parents wait until February to book their children a private lesson. I recommend taking the extra classes earlier on in the year as the student receives personal corrections and tips that they can work on, master and improve in plenty of time before the exam.
HOW TO LOG IN AND BOOK CLASSES
- Log in to www.royaldanceacademy.com
- b) Go to contact page and log in to the "Jackrabbit Parent Portal" (Details were sent in a previous email)
- c) Click on " Registration"
- d) You can see all classes available including private lessons & master classes ( For those in competition, there are also privates available with Mike & Ms Katie) You can select " ALL" in each section or you can select certain Instructors. Please remember to scroll through the different pages to see all options of available classes. There are many classes as a private lesson is classed as 1 class.
- e) Click on the class you want
- f) Click next to your daughters’ name, check details of the class are correct then click "ok"
- g) YOU ARE NOT ENROLLED YET UNTIL YOU COMPLETE THE PAYMENT PROCESS. Click on "Fees and Payments"
- h) You will see the balance due for the class, click on " Make a Payment”
- Click on " SUBMIT"
- j) If all is approved you will receive an email confirmation immediately
If we do not have your bank or credit card details on file then you will need to input them or give us your details in order to book these extra classes.
4: Practices with the pianist will be in February and 1st week of March. Times to be announced. Students usually have 3 practices with the exam pianist. The cost will be $40 and will be automatically charged to your account.
5: RAD SUMMER CAMPS 2012 will be :
1ST WEEK - JULY 9TH - 13TH
2ND WEEK - AUGUST 6TH - 10TH
Please save at least one of the weeks for your daughter to learn her new grade syllabus.
6: CLASSICAL CAMP 2012 will be - JULY 16TH - 20TH
7: RAD SUMMER SCHOOL IN LONG BEACH is usually the last week in July.
8: ALL CORRECT RAD UNIFORM SHOULD BE WORN FOR ALL RAD BALLET CLASSES. UNIFORM, SHOES AND HAIR MUST BE IMMACULATE.
